ORANGE-BELLIED FLOWERPECKER


Location : Ipoh, Perak

9 cm Male rubropygium: Slaty-blue crown/nape/wings/tail, grey throat/upper breast, orange lower breast/mantle/back, yellower uppertail-coverts/vent. Female: Slender, slightly curved bill, plain olive head, orange-yellow rump, greyish throat/upper breast, dull yellow belly-centre/vent. Juvenile: As female but throat/breast more olive. Other subspecies D.t.trigonostigma (south of c.8’30°N). VOICE Song is high, slightly descending tsisi-si-si-sew. Harsh dzip. HABITAT Edge of broadleaved evergreen forest, gardens, cultivation; up to 915 m, locally 1,525 m. RANGE Fc/co R SW,S,E(south) Myanmar, Tenasserim, W(south),S Thailand, Pen Malaysia, Singapore.
