10.5–12 cm Adult non-breeding malaya: Supercilium whiter than non-breeding Bright-headed, nape duller, tail-tips whiter.Adult breeding: Crown/mantle quite uniform with broader dark streaks, tail paler/warmer, slightly shorter.Juvenile: Upperparts intermediate between non-breeding and breeding adult, washed light yellow below. Other subspecies C.j.cursitans (SW,W,N,E,C Myanmar); tinnabulans (Indochina). VOICE Song is monotonous, clicking dzip dzip dzip dzip... Calls with chipp or plit. HABITAT Rice paddies, marshes, grassland (mainly wet); up to 1,220 m. RANGE Co R throughout.
