19 cm Adult malayensis: Rufescent-tinged plumage, brown eyes. Plainer above than Mountain, less distinct scapular markings, plain rufous-buff below with blackish spots (highlit above with pale buff); primariesbroadly barred dark-and-buff. VOICE Territorial call is hollow whistled hoooo, fading at the end, repeated every 7–11 s. HABITAT Broadleaved evergreen forest; up to 200 m. RANGE Sc/un R southern S Thailand, Pen Malaysia
