25 cm Male concretus: Green crown, black and blue headstripes, rufous collar and breast. Female: Dull green above,
buffy-speckled coverts. Juvenile: Brownish bill with yellowish
tip/base; male has bold mantle-spots. Other subspecies
A.c.peristephes(Tenasserim, S Thailand to Trang). VOICE Rising
whistles: kwi-i kwi-i kw-i kw-i kw-i.. (c.1 per s). Series of
softer kwi-irr notes. HABITAT Broadleaved evergreen forest,
near water; up to 1,200 m. RANGE Sc/un R south Tenasserim,
W(south),S Thailand, Pen Malaysia. Frc Singapore.
