13–13.5 cm Male: White supercilium/wing-patch/tertial edges, rufous orange below.Female: Greyish-brown above, buffy-orange throat/breast, wing-bars.First-winter male: Greyer headsides than female, stronger supercilium, brighter throat/breast. VOICE Rattled trrr’rr or trrrik. HABITAT Broadleaved evergreen and pine forest, migrants also in plantations, parks, gardens; to 2,010 m (WV mainly above 800 m). RANGE Sc/lfc WV W,NE,SE,S Thailand, Pen Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, C,S Annam. Sc/un PM NW,NE,C,S Thailand, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, W,E Tonkin.
