13 cm Male non-breeding/female albicilla: Buffy-grey breast, blackish tail with white; dark bill. Male breeding: Orange throat, bordered grey. First winter: As female but buffy greater covert/tertial tips. VOICE Rhythmic song is sharp/high, then clear, descending. Rattled trrrt, dry tek notes, harsh zree. HABITAT & BEHAVIOUR Open woodland, plantations, parks etc.; up to 2,135 m. Cocks tail. RANGE Co WV (except Pen Malaysia, Singapore). V Pen Malaysia. Also PM Cambodia, E Tonkin
