17.5–19.5 cm Adult longicauda: Pale below with blackish breast-band. Juvenile: Browner above with dull rufescent scales/bars, dull rufescent wing-feather tips/fringes, duller breast-band. VOICE Squeaky measured chew-weet chew-weet chew-weet chew(last note falling). Squeaky chattering and squawking chit and cheet notes. HABITAT Mangroves, swamp forest, parks, gardens, plantations, secondary growth (usually near water); up to 455 m, locally 825 m. RANGE Co R (mostly coastal) Tenasserim, Thailand (except NW), Pen Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, N Laos (Mekong R), Cochinchina.
