14.5 cm Adult fulvum: Buff head-side/breast (latter faintly streaked), paler vent and longer tail than Abbott’s. Juvenile: Very rufescent above.Adult assamense (N Myanmar): Darker, more rufous above. Other subspecies P.t.annamense (southern Laos/Vietnam)/tickelli (Tenasserim/W Thailand southward): More rufous. P.t.grisescens (south-west Myanmar). VOICE Song is rapidly repeated wi-twee or wi-choo. High laughing swi-tit-tit-titchoo etc. Rattling prrree and explosive whit notes. HABITAT Broadleaved forest, secondary growth, bamboo; up to 1,550 m. RANGE Co R (except W,C Myanmar, C,SE Thailand, Singapore).
